COVID-19: Maldives confirms 21 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 21 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 13,558. With the new cases, Maldives has a total of 492 active cases.

12 of the new cases were identified from the Greater Male' Area while four cases were confirmed from other inhabited islands. Five cases were also confirmed from resorts.  

Meanwhile, 28 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 13,011. There are a total of 37 patients in the hospital.

HPA specified that 2,562 samples were collected for the virus in the last 24 hours. Health officials have so far collected 299,468 samples for the virus.

48 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
