COVID-19: Maldives active cases increase to 1,131

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 44 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 12,933.

The agency also confirmed that 32 COVID-19 patients had also made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 11,749.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,131 active cases. Yesterday, the Maldives had a total of 1,119 active cases.

According to HPA, the new cases tonight include 37 cases from the greater Male’ region. Three cases were identified from other inhabited islands while three were confirmed from operational resorts. A single case was also identified from an island under development.

There are 93 patients in hospitals. 

1,538 samples were tested for the virus in the last 24 hours.

239,173 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for COVID-19 to date.
