Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has been contracted to establish water and sanitation systems in 15 residential islands and water systems in five additional residential islands.
The contracts were signed in a ceremony at Voice of Maldives’ Seneco hall on Sunday.
According to the Housing Ministry, MWSC, under the terms of the contracts, is required to complete the water and sanitation projects in 18 months and the water projects in 15 months.
The cumulative value of the contracts is above MVR 1.31 billion.

- H. A. Thakandhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 76.45 million
- H. A. Vashafaru water and sanitation project: MVR 78.92 million
- H. Dh. Hirimaradhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 69.14 million
- H. Dh. Kumundhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 102.17 million
- Sh. Goidhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 86.05 million
- N. Maafaru water and sanitation project: MVR 94.42 million
- N. Fodhdhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 58.15 million

The projects were contracted to MWSC under build and design method.
