Expat worker of boat from Naifaru tests positive for COVID-19

An expatriate worker of a boat that travels between Lh. Naifaru and Male’ City has tested positive for COVID-19.

Naifaru Council member Vidhaadh Abdulla said to Sun that the worker was not in home-quarantine but was later placed in quarantine after exhibiting symptoms of the virus. 

“It has been three days since the worker was placed in home-quarantine. Samples collected afterward tested positive.” Said Vidhaadh.

The boat is currently in Male’ City and contact tracing efforts were now underway.
