Boat runs aground on reef near Male' City

A boat carrying three people from B. Atoll to Thilafushi has been run aground a reef.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said that the incident report was received around 5:46 today. The boat is named “Noomas” and ran aground near the Northern side of Thilafushi. An MNDF squadron from the Male’ area is now at the scene.

The boat was carrying two locals and one expatriate. 

Authorities have warned caution when traveling due to the current spell of bad weather experienced all across the nation.
