Police have requested the Prosecutor General’s Office to request a review of the decision to release the alleged head of a drug network in the country who was arrested on January 30.
Arushad Khalid was released under a court order yesterday. He was arrested along with nine others in January. Police stated that a hearing to review the decision was being planned for 15:00 today.
Police have not yet revealed the terms of Arushad’s release. Three others from the island of G.Dh. Hoadedhdhoo was detained for a further ten days. The three individuals are Ahmed Sunainu, from Irumatheege, G.Dh. Hoadedhdhoo, Ahmed Giyaas from Madrid house, G.Dh. Hoadedhdhoo and Ali Zubair from Guleynooranmaage, G.Dh. Hoadedhdhoo.
Police also seized MVR 4.6 million connected with the operation.
