The Presidential Commission on Deaths and Disappearances (DDCOM) has begun questioning Aishath Nasheedha, who was the wife of Mohamed Shafeeu that went missing from Fuvahmulah nearly two years ago.

Shafeeu was reported missing on July 14, 2017, after leaving his wife’s’ house for his parents’ house around 9:30 that night in Dhoodigan of Fuvahmulah. “Sun” has learned that the DDCOM suspects Nasheedha of murdering and burying him. She was questioned yesterday and is expected to be questioned today as well.

The DDCOM also sent a team to Fuvahmulah regarding the case last July and questioned Nasheedha and others related to the case.

Nasheedha’s family also criticized the DDCOM’s actions and stated that it was not within the powers of the Commission to question her without a lawyer. Nasheedha has also rejected the accusations allegations.
