Speaker Nasheed praises government's SAP

The Speaker of the Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed has spoken out in favor of the Strategic Action Plan unveiled at a special ceremony in Dharubaaruge last night.

Nasheed was speaking at the Parliamentary session held today when he stated that the SAP was something imperative to a country and its government and would allow people to stay informed about the plans of the government. 

"This plan would allow MPs to make the government accountable by following its order," said Nasheed.

Nasheed also stated that he believed the targets of the action plan can only be attained with the formation of new laws and stated that the main task of the Parliament should be clear the way for targets in the action plan. Nasheed also thanked the President and senior officials of the government for the formation of a plan that would allow the implementation of the manifesto of MDP and its coalition parties.

"The SAP (plan) is necessary for the state to function and it is one of the most important pillars. I congratulate the government for this plan." said the Speaker.

The action plan unveiled last night mostly includes the pledges made by the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the MDP Agenda 19 manifesto for the Parliament election. There are also other works and projects of government institutions included in the plan and details of the expenses.
