51 accidents recorded in Male' City last week

Male' City saw 51 accidents in total last week according to Maldives Police Service statistics.

The data shared by the Traffic Management Department of Police show that 10 people were injured in the 51 accidents and the licenses of five individuals were held regarding the accidents.

The statistics also showed that 658 stickers were issued by the police during this period and 487 vehicles were checked with 45 vehicles being towed. 33 cases speeding and 29 cases of ignoring traffic signs were reviewed by the police.

152 cases of driving without license and 92 cases of driving without the license on the person were checked by police. No cases regarding underage driving were noticed by police last week.

46 cases of driving without a helmet in the designated areas were checked while 10 cases of driving without headlights were checked by police as well.
