Lift at construction site falls, injuring 1 worker

A migrant construction worker has been reported injured in a fall after the cable of the lift he was on gave way.

The incident took place at Jaah Investment’s construction site located to the south of Hulhumale’ Central Park this Saturday morning.

Maldives Police Service reports the lift fell from the seventh floor.

The construction worker on the lift at the time, identified only as a male migrant worker, was originally taken to the Hulhumale’ Hospital at 9:15 am, from where received emergency treatment before he was transferred to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Male’ City for further treatment.

The extent of his injuries are unclear at this point.
