Former Member of Parliament for Mahibadhoo constituency, Rugiyya Mohamed, has been appointed the Deputy CEO of National Social Protection Agency, NSPA.
The former lawmaker served in the People's Majlis from 2009 to 2014. She ran for a second term in 2014 but failed to secure the Mahibadhoo Seat.She currently is the Mahibadhoo constituency President of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s National Council.
Rugiyya, a relative of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, is spouse to Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC)'s Managing Director Thoyyib Mohamed.
NSPA is an agency founded on 27th August 2008, to oversee the national social and health insurance schemes, additionally to planning and executing programs under the Social Protection Act.
