Neighborhood Support Officers resolved 18 traffic issues, 13 construction issues last week

The Neighborhood Support Officers attended to 26 traffic issues, out of which it resolved 18 issues in the Greater Male’ Area within the one-week period from May 3-9, says Maldives Police Service.

MPS released its weekly statistics for the NSO this Sunday morning.

The statistics show that in addition to resolving traffic issues, the NSO also resolved 13 construction issues; 11 of which were reported from sites in Male’ City and two of which were reported from sites in Hulhumale’.

The department also attended to 9 immigration related issues during the period, all of which were reported from Male’ City.

The department conducted checks on total 326 locations during the past week; 164 locations in Male’ City, 99 locations in Hulhumale’, and 63 locations in Vilimale’.

It also visited 62 households and shops; 29 in Male’ City and 33 in Hulhumale’.

NSO is a new department introduced to fulfil President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s 100-day pledge to maintain peace and security within Male’ City.

The Greater Male’ Area has been divided into eight districts and officers assigned to attend to public complaints it receives from each district.

The eight districts comprise of four districts of Male’ City and three districts of Hulhumale, while Vilimale’ is considered one single district.
