Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) is taking part in the Riyadh Travel Fair 2019 – Saudi Arabia’s largest travel and trade event.
Riyadh Travel Fair 2019 is being held at the Al Faisaliah Tower Hotel in Riyadh. The event began on March 28 and will end on March 30.
MATATO reports it is the association’s fourth year representing Maldives at the event.
Three Maldivian companies, in addition to MATATO, are exhibiting at this year’s event.
Riyadh Travel Fair is organized by ASAS Exhibitions Riyadh Fair and pools leading travel and tourism companies operating in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries together.
MATATO reports it intends to make the best use of the opportunity at the Riyadh Travel Fair and provide the opportunity for Maldivian travel businesses to make direct contact with the key players in the Middle Eastern travel market and other emerging tourist markets across the world.
Tourist arrivals to Maldives from the Middle East has been on a steady upward trajectory in recent years. Statistics show an 8 percent increase in tourist arrivals from the Middle East in 2017 compared to 2016, which is a 10 percent growth when compared to 2015.
