MVR 160K check of Horizon Fisheries stolen in mugging

A laptop bag containing a MVR 160,000 check and additional documents which belong to Horizon Fisheries was stolen in a street mugging this Sunday.

Maldives Police Service reports the robbery took place at approximately 10:45 am near the Ziyaaraih Mosque located in Fiyaathoshi Magu of Male’ City.

MPS reports it has launched an investigation into the mugging, but has not made any arrests as of yet.

The agency has advised companies which transport large amounts of cash and checks to seek assistance of the Police Installation Security Department.
