PNC appoints Tholal as SG, Geela as Registrar

People’s National Congress (PNC) has appointed officials to the position of Secretary-General and Registrar of the party.

Mohamed Tholal – former Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and the first Secretary-General of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) was appointed PNC’s Secretary-General.

Tholal, in addition to serving at Ministry of Home Affairs, also served as President of Athletics Association.

Meanwhile, the position of Registrar went to Geela Ali – former Additional Secretary at Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Geela previously also served as Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Health, and is currently campaigning for the West Maafannu seat of the Parliament.

Member of the interim executive committee of PNC, Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) reports the two appointments were made during the first meeting of the interim executive committee.

PNC held is inaugural congress on January 27, during which it elected an interim leader, interim deputy leaders and interim executive committee.
