Shantey – arrested with 7 kilos of narcotics – released from detention

Award winning local bodybuilder Shaheem Ibrahim Didi (Shantey), who was arrested for possession of narcotics, has been released from detention.

Shantey was arrested from his apartment with 7 kilos of narcotics on December 3, 2018.

Maldives Police Service reports Shantey was released from detention by Criminal Court during his remand hearing the next day, on December 4.

The remand hearing was presided over by Judge Ibrahim Ali.

Shantey, a former Mr. Maldives, won multiple awards in bodybuilding including a gold medal for Maldives at the Asian Bodybuilding Championship in 2017 and received The President’s Medal for his achievement in 2018.
