Police arrest 2 men who broke into Hulhumale' Gateway School

Two men who broke into the Gateway International School in Hulhumale’ have been arrested attempting to flee the scene by Maldives Police Service.

MPS has released a statement via its website which says the two would-be robbers were caught on the run after jumping over the wall surrounding the school property at approximately 3:40 am this Tuesday.

They have been identified as one 20-year-old Maldivian man and one 37-year-old Maldivian man.

MPS said the 37-year-old was arrested from the no. 3 road on Hithigasmagu, and the 20-year-old was arrested from near Hulhumale’ Flat No. 48.

MPS said officers recovered a mobile phone, two wrenches, screwdrivers, a bag, gloves and a facemask during their search in and just outside the school property.

The case is now under investigation.

Two shops and a salon was targeted in a series of break-ins in Hulhumale’ just one week ago.
