MNDF: Zakariyya Mansoor was not arrested

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has denied rumors of Brigadiar General, Zakariyya Mansoor being placed under arrest. 

While rumors of Mansoor's arrest have been circulating on social media, the former President, Mohamed Nasheed, too has tweeted his concerns for the Brigadiar General's alleged arrest. 

MNDF tweeted today with a screenshot of the ex-President's tweet saying that false information is being spread in regards to the institution. 

A number officers of MNDF were arrested along with the dismissal of the former head of Police SWAT, Hussin Saif in connection to a conspiracy to overthrow the government.
