The national airline of the Maldives, Maldivian, welcomed a new King Air 360 aircraft dedicated to its luxury operations.
The aircraft was introduced to support the luxury flight services launched by Maldivian in partnership with "Nila Corals."
Speaking at a special ceremony held at Velana International Airport to mark the aircraft’s arrival, Island Aviation Services’s Deputy Managing Director Ali Saleem said tourism remains the primary pillar of the Maldivian economy. He emphasised that as the tourism sector continues to grow, the company’s employees play a vital role in transporting tourists across the archipelago.
He noted that the new aircraft presents a significant opportunity to enhance connectivity and will play an important role in providing premium transport services to luxury resorts across the Maldives.
"With the introduction of this new service today, this product will play a crucial role in travel to the luxury resorts of the Maldives," Saleem said.
Saleem further explained that the King Air 360 is widely used internationally for luxury charter flights, highlighting passenger comfort as one of its key features.
According to Maldivian, the aircraft differs considerably from its existing fleet. Designed to accommodate a limited number of passengers, the King Air 360 features a sophisticated interior and can reach destinations faster than the ATR aircraft currently in operation.
The luxury service will be available to corporations, private organisations and individual clients.
"The services of the King Air 360 will be accessible to all companies in the Maldives, and private organizations as well as individuals will have the opportunity to experience this luxury service," Saleem added.
Saleem also revealed that customers will be able to book all services, including the new luxury product, through the airline’s online platform within the next two to three months.
Maldivian stated that the new service marks a significant step in the airline’s efforts to maintain the Maldives’ position as a leading global tourism destination.
Maldivian is the national carrier of the Republic of Maldives and operates under Island Aviation Services. The airline plays a key role in the country’s transport and tourism infrastructure.
Its main services include scheduled domestic flights to airports across the country, seaplane operations using De Havilland Canada aircraft for resort transfers, and international flights to India and other regional destinations.
