Mihadh, Sahar dismissed from MACL’s board

Mohamed Mihadh (R) and Sahar Waheed (L) dismissed from the Board of Directors of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has announced the dismissal of Executive Director Mohamed Mihadh, H. Finolhu and Non-Executive Director Sahar Waheed, M. Velaaluge, from the Board of Directors of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), with the changes taking effect from Thursday.

Mihadh, who was appointed to the MACL board on April 26, 2024, also serves as the company’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). A CIMA Chartered Management Accountant, Mihadh has extensive experience in finance and corporate management. His previous positions include Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and board member at the State Trading Organization (STO), as well as board memberships at MIFCO and MSS. He has also served as Chairman of FSM and as a partner at KPMG Maldives.

Sahar Waheed, who joined the MACL board on December 24, 2023, has more than 17 years of experience in the financial sector. A Chartered Banker, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a Master’s degree in Commercial Law from the University of the West of England. Her professional career includes extensive experience in risk management, compliance, and operations.

Although both directors have been removed from their respective positions on the MACL board, the PCB has not provided details regarding the reasons behind the changes
