President appoints 10 individuals, including ministers, to PNC leadership

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed 10 individuals, including several serving Cabinet ministers, to leadership positions within the People’s National Congress (PNC).

The swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected and appointed PNC officials was held during the afternoon session of the party’s Senate.

During the session, PNC Spokesperson Mohamed Firuzul Abdul Khaleel announced that President Muizzu had appointed 10 individuals to the party’s leadership. Firuzul said seven of the appointments were made at the ministerial level. They are:

  • Housing Minister Dr. Abdulla Muthalib
  • Health Minister Geela Ali
  • Tourism Minister Mohamed Ameen
  • Chief of Staff at the President’s Office Abdulla Fayaz
  • Minister at the President’s Office Abdulla Nasir
  • Minister at the President’s Office Mohamed Tholal
  • Ambassador of Maldives to Qatar Adam Shareef Umar

In addition to these appointments, President Muizzu appointed three managing directors and CEOs of state-owned enterprises to the PNC leadership. They are:

  • CEO of Male’ City Group of Hospitals Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem
  • Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Ali Zuhair
  • Managing Director of Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) Hamdhan Shakeel

All 10 officials formally took their oaths of office during the afternoon session.
