Man arrested last month with suspected narcotics remanded as police recover additional drugs

Sajidh Abdul-Muhaimin, 27, from V. Felidhoo, who was arrested last month on suspicion of possessing, using and trafficking drugs, has been ordered to remain in custody pending trial.

Police said Sajidh was arrested on the 24th of last month in a joint operation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Department and CounterNarcotics Intelligence. He was taken to court and initially remanded for 30 days.

That remand period expired on Saturday. Police said officers recovered suspected narcotics from Sajidh’s residence, with a provisional weight of 51.30 grams.

The court on Saturday ordered that Sajidh remain in custody pending trial.

Records show that Sajidh is also facing a charge of possession of pornography at the Criminal Court, with a hearing scheduled for Tuesday morning.

In addition, court records indicate that the prosecution has filed another drugrelated case against him.
