Elderly man found dead in waters of Eydhafushi harbor area

An elderly man was found dead in the waters of the harbor area in B. Eydhafushi early this morning.

Maldives Police Service said it received a report of the incident at approximately 7:55 a.m. today.

The Police identified the deceased as 82-year-old Ali Abdullah of Seasonge, B. Eydhafushi. According to the authorities, he was already deceased when he his body was found.

While police have not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident, they confirmed that an investigation is currently underway.
