All Maldivian pilgrims arrived safely in Mina on Monday morning as the hajj rituals officially begin.
According to the Maldives Hajj Mission, pilgrims began their journey to Mina on Sunday night, and arrived in the vast tent city at dawn.
In a video message on Monday morning, Sheikh Imthithaau Abbas, the head of Maldives Pilgrims Affairs Office, said that the Maldives Hajj Mission was closely looking after the pilgrims.
“By Allah’s Grace, all Maldivian [pilgrims] are doing generally well,” he said.

The Hajj Mission states that it has set up separate fully air-conditioned tents for male and female pilgrims, with each pilgrim provided a sofa bed, pillow and bedsheets.
Each pilgrim has also been provided with a package of other essentials including a handbag, prayer mat, and toiletries.
The Hajj Mission has also set up a free juice bar outside the tents to help pilgrims ward off the desert heat.
The pilgrims will spend the night in prayer and worship in Mina, before departing for Arafat to perform Wuquf-e-Arafat — the most significant ritual of hajj.
