Hulhumale' North Constituency Councilor Fathimath Zahiyya (Zaya) has raised concern over power outages disrupting water supply in the Vinares flats in Hulhumale' Phase II.

Power outages across Male' City, including Hulhumale', lasted more than three hours on Saturday before service was restored.

In a post, Zaya said water and elevator services are being interrupted every time electricity goes out. She stressed that water is a basic necessity and said it is unacceptable for residents to lose access to it during each outage. Zaya urged the government and relevant authorities to urgently resolve the issue.

Residents say the problem is not limited to Vinares. The Amaan flats built by FDC also experience water cuts whenever power outages occur, leaving families without basic services for hours at a time.

The Vinares flats are a densely populated housing cluster, and prolonged water cuts create significant hardship for residents, particularly families with young children.
