Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) says temporary parking will be arranged for residents near Aman Dhoadhi Tower 16 in Hulhumale' until the parking building planned for the adjacent vacant land is completed.
The empty plot beside Aman Dhoadhi Tower 16 has long been used informally as a parking area by residents. Recent activity on the land, however, left many without space, forcing motorcycles and four‑wheelers to scatter across nearby roads.
FDC Managing Director Hamdhan Shakeel told Sun that the land is being developed exactly as originally planned, as a dedicated parking building. The project was contracted by the previous administration to Indian companies NBCC and KPIL.
Hamdhan said construction is underway, but the parking allocation in the original agreement is insufficient for the number of units.
He said the government’s target is to ensure at least two motorcycle parking slots per unit, noting that the area currently sees a high concentration of four‑wheelers.
“There are already a large number of four‑wheelers parked in the area. The development of this building will solve that,” Hamdhan said.
He added that alternative temporary parking will be arranged for residents living near the site until the building is completed.
