A speedboat carrying students enrolled in the second batch of the National Service Initial Training Course capsized while travelling from Maafilaafushi to Male'.
According to MNDF, two Marine Police vessels were dispatched after authorities received a report that a speedboat transporting the students had suffered a mechanical failure en route.
Some of the students who fell overboard near Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa have since been rescued.

MNDF said all students are in good condition.
The incident occurred when one of the speedboats carrying the National Service students broke down and began sinking near Hulhumale', prompting the students to be taken out of the vessel and into the water as it went under.
