MDP suspends Villingili constituency vice president Ameez Hassan over allegations of working against party candidates

The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has decided to temporarily suspend its Villingili constituency vice president, Ameez Hassan, from all party activities.

The decision was made at a party meeting held Thursday, following a complaint alleging that Ameez had worked against the MDP’s official candidates in the Villingili constituency.

According to the party, an internal investigation is now underway. Until the inquiry is completed, Ameez has been barred from participating in any party activities or carrying out his responsibilities.

The case is being reviewed on allegations that he acted in violation of the party’s constitution and against the interests of the MDP.
