No external injuries found; police seek autopsy to confirm cause of death

Police say an autopsy is being arranged for a man found dead inside a house in Male’ City on Wednesday.

According to police, the body was discovered in an abandoned residence identified as G. Fresh Light, located in an alley off Faashanaakilege Magu. Officers conducted an external examination of the deceased and found no signs of external injury or indications of harm caused by another person.

However, police said the condition of the body, the apparent time elapsed since death, and information gathered from the scene led investigators to conclude that forensic analysis is required to determine the exact cause of death.

Arrangements for an autopsy are now underway, police confirmed.

The case remains under investigation, and police said further information will be released as the inquiry progresses.
