Seven people have been provided temporary shelter after a fire destroyed a room in a house in Hulhumale' on Tuesday, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said.
The fire broke out at Lot 11395. NDMA said one room was completely burned down, while the adjacent room and the living room were also affected by heat and smoke.
According to the latest update shared by the authority, temporary shelter, food and clothing have been arranged for the seven residents for a period of five days.

NDMA said the assistance was provided after the fire left one quarter of the house uninhabitable and caused varying levels of damage to the remaining quarters.
The incident comes shortly after a separate fire in a Hiyaa tower in Hulhumale', which damaged sewerage and water lines serving 38 apartments.
