Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has signed an agreement with the Ananthapuri Hospitals and Research Institute (AHRI) that allows passengers of the airline to enjoy discounts from the hospital in India’s Trivandrum.

India is one of the most preferred destinations for Maldivians seeking specialized medical treatment, with Trivandrum serving as a key regional healthcare hub due to its proximity to the Maldives and the availability of advanced medical facilities.

Maldivian announced on Thursday that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AHRI, aimed at improving healthcare accessibility and providing added value for Maldivian passengers seeking medical treatment abroad.

With the agreement, passengers travelling on Maldivian to Trivandrum can now benefit from a more coordinated medical travel experience, with direct access to dedicated support and healthcare services upon arrival.

According to Maldivian, the preferential healthcare services for its passengers available at AHRI includes:

  • Special discounted rates on Outpatient (OP) and Inpatient (IP) treatments
  • 15 percent discount on health check-up packages
  • 10 percent discount on outpatient laboratory and radiology services
  • Complimentary ambulance transfer from Trivandrum International Airport to the hospital

According to Maldivian, the hospital will establish a dedicated customer care desk to assist with appointments, medical coordination, and patient support, and will offer special assistance services, including language translation support, for senior citizens and critically ill patients.

The airline said that the benefits under this partnership are available to all passengers travelling on Maldivian to Trivandrum.

Passengers can contact Maldivian or Ananthapuri Hospitals directly for more information on how to access these services.

Maldivian said that this collaboration reflects the airline’s ongoing commitment to enhancing passenger experience beyond travel, by connecting passengers not only to destinations but also to essential services that support their wellbeing.
