Dhiraagu receives ‘Maldives’ Fastest 5G Network’ and two other Ookla® awards

Dhiraagu has received three Ookla® Speedtest Awards™ - ‘Maldives’ Fastest 5G Network’, ‘Maldives’ Best 5G Network’ and ‘Maldives Best 5G Gaming Experience’ - based on Ookla® Speedtest Intelligence® data for 1H 2025.

The awards were presented during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain – the largest global event for telecommunications industry.

In a statement on Wednesday, Dhiraagu described the achievement as a testament to the company’s continued investment in innovation and commitment to delivering world-class connectivity.

“As the first digital service provider to launch commercial 5G services in both South Asia and the Maldives, Dhiraagu has consistently led the way in introducing innovative digital solutions,” reads the statement. “Today, with more than 73 percent of the population having access to Dhiraagu ultra-fast 5G network, the company remain dedicated to expanding their 5G footprint, enhancing customer experiences, and driving the nation’s digital transformation.”

Dhiraagu has received the ‘Maldives’ Fastest Mobile Network’ award by Ookla® for three consecutive years, and ‘Fastest 5G Network’ in the Maldives for two consecutive years – something the company said further emphasizes its dominance in delivering high-speed mobile connectivity.
