Bank of Maldives (BML), on Wednesday, announced that the bank will be increasing the monthly foreign transaction limits on credit cards starting from February.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced foreign transaction limits on credit cards would be increased starting in February via a social media post back in September.

BML released details of the revised limits on Wednesday. Accordingly, the monthly foreign transaction limit for Classic credit cards has been raised from USD 750 to USD 1,400, for Gold credit cards from USD 750 to USD 1,500, and for Platinum credit cards from USD 1,500 to USD 3,000.
Notably, the bank increased the monthly foreign transaction limit on debit cards back in November, allowing up to USD 3,000 per month for travel and medical expenses and USD 1,000 for POS transactions abroad.
