Actor Naeem, best known for strict father roles, passes away

Mohamed Naeem, widely recognized for portraying strict father figures in Maldivian cinema, has passed away.

He is best known for his role in the music video for the song “Govijje Nadhuru,” where he played a stern father alongside Mariyam Nisha and Yoosuf Shafeeu (Euppe).

Naeem appeared in many films and television dramas, often cast as a hot-tempered parent. One of his most notable film performances was in “Zuleyha.”

At the time of his passing, Naeem was 71. The cause of his death remains unclear at the moment.

Naeem’s funeral has been scheduled for this afternoon after Dhuhr prayer at Asahara Cemetery Mosque.

Notably, the much-loved veteran director Abdul Fatthah also passed away recently after suffering a heart attack.
