The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced that the deadline for submitting applications for the World No Tobacco Day Award has been extended.
In a statement on Wednesday, HPA said the annual award, presented by the World Health Organization (WHO), recognises individuals and institutions that have made significant contributions to tobacco control and encourages continued efforts in reducing tobacco use.

Interested and eligible individuals and organizations are invited to complete the application form available via the WHO link.

Applications were initially due by the 16th of this month, but the deadline has now been extended to 13th of next month.
The theme for this year’s World No Tobacco Day is “Unmasking the Epic, Countering Nicotine and Tobacco Addiction.”
World No Tobacco Day is observed globally on May 31 each year.
