Adam Naseer: Pres. prioritizing fostering national consciousness to ensure safety of Maldivians

Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage Adam Naseer Ibrahim has remarked President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu places a special priority on fostering national consciousness to guarantee the safety of Maldivians.

Speaking during an event held on Monday night to commemorate Martyrs’ Day, Minister Naseer said a state is formed through efforts to defend a nation, regardless of the era.

He added that the state’s survival depends on nonstop efforts to defend the nation, adding that the lives of many need to be sacrificed for this purpose.

Referring to the history of the Maldives, Minister Naseer noted that many battles had to be fought to defend Maldivians. He added that each attack on the Maldives had been intended to overthrow the Maldivian state or exercise authority over the Maldivian state.

He stressed that these attacks were defended in order to protect the Maldivian state.

Speaking further, Minister Naseer said a state can only be defended if the citizens of the respective nation have enough respect and commitment for the state, combined with adequate preparedness in arms and other resources.

“The honorable President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s national policy includes fostering national consciousness and procuring defense resources and other advancements solely strengthen the independence of Maldivians by a huge mile and ensure the safety of Maldivians,” he said.

Citing the ever-changing global landscape, the minister emphasized the importance of staying alert, saying the duty of defending religion and the nation lies with the people.

The Minister added that important events such as Martyrs’ Day is celebration by the current administration on a national scale to convey these realities to different generations and to instill a spirit of prioritizing national interests in the hearts of the people.
