Body scanner to counter prison smuggling, not jammers

Instead of installing jammers to prevent smuggled phones from accessing networks and the internet, the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology is reportedly working on the installation of body scanners for visitors to Maafushi Prison.  Smuggling of prohibited items, particularly mobile phones, into Maafushi Prison has become increasingly common. The prison has been subjected to searches in the past for devices
