Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen on Wednesday reaffirmed his commitment to empowering women officers and supporting their growth as leaders and role models.
He reaffirmed the pledge in an address on occasion of Maldives Women in Policing Day.
In his message, Naveen said the Maldives Police Service is proud to celebrate the contributions of women in policing.
“Their dedication, courage, and professionalism continue to strengthen our institution and inspire the communities we serve,” he said.
Naveen said that women police officers play a vital role in every area of policing, from frontline duties to leadership, from community engagement to specialized investigations.
“Their presence not only enhances our capacity but also reflects our commitment to diversity, fairness, and equality in service to the nation,” he said.
Naveen reiterated the Maldives Police Service’s commitment to equality within the police force.
“As we mark this occasion, we reaffirm our pledge to provide equal opportunities, empower women officers, and support their growth as leaders and role models,” he said.
“The success of the Maldives Police Service is built on the strength of all its members, and the contributions of women in policing remain invaluable to our mission of safety, justice, and trust.”
