Applications open for 40 scholarships for Master’s degree in heritage research

The National Institute for Maldivian Heritage Research has opened applications for 40 scholarships for Master’s degree in heritage research.

These scholarships, titled ‘Signature Scholarships’, are sponsored by the National Institute for Maldivian Heritage Research for a Master’s degree program in heritage research by the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).

Students selected for the scholarships will have their course fees fully covered by the National Institute for Maldivian Heritage Research, a new institution established by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu last year.

Students who get selected for the scholarships will get enrolled in the IUM’s Master in Research and Publication program, which has a two-year period for research. The students will also be involved in academic research at the National Institute for Maldivian Heritage Research two days each month.

Applications for the 40 slots are open until 02:00 pm on September 25.

Individuals who have a certificate level 7, 8 or 9 under the Maldives National Qualifications Framework (MNQF) are eligible for the program.

According to the National Institute for Maldivian Heritage Research, the purpose of the scholarship program is to create capable researchers and promote Maldivian heritage.

Students will get the opportunity for in-depth studies into an area of Maldivian heritage, and the opportunity get their research published.
