Dharavandhoo announces Eid fishing tournament with MVR 30,000 prize pool

B. Dharavandhoo on Sunday opened applications for its ‘Honey Bunny Masrace 1446’, a fishing tournament it is hosting this upcoming Eid al-Adha.

The ‘Honey Bunny Masrace 1446’ is organized by the Dharavandhoo Council in collaboration with local restaurant Honey Bunny, as is part of Dharavandhoo’s ‘Magey Eid 1446’ festivities.

The fishing tournament, aimed at fostering friendship and promoting fishing among visitors to Dharavandhoo, will take place from 02:30 pm to 09:30 pm on June 8.

Applications are open until 11:59 pm on May 31.

The tournament has a prize pool of MVR 30,000.

• First place: MVR 15,000 cash prize
• Runner-up: MVR 8,000 cash prize
• Second runner-up: MVR 5,000
• Biggest fish: MVR 2,000 cash prize

Dharavandhoo has been conducting a string of exciting activities under its ‘Visit Dharavandhoo Year 2025’ campaign, aimed at promoting the island as a local tourism destination, increasing its visibility, and boosting visitor numbers.
