Hotelier Maldives has announced the date for Hotelier Maldives Awards 2025: June 14th.
The event, presented by Bestbuy Maldives (BBM), will be held at Barceló Nasandhura Malé — the Maldivian capital’s newly opened five-star hotel.
Established in 2024, the Hotelier Maldives Awards aim to honour and celebrate exceptional individuals who contribute to excellence in the Maldives' tourism and hospitality sector. The first edition saw an impressive turnout, attracting over 300 nominations and receiving more than 100,000 public votes.
Building on the momentum of its debut, the 2025 Hotelier Maldives Awards received over 450 nominations by the February 10 deadline. Judging was conducted from February 20 to March 15, followed by a public voting period that ended on April 25 with more than 600,000 votes cast. This year, the awards have introduced four new categories, with winners determined through a combined scoring system—60% from the judges and 40% from the public vote.
The winners will be announced during a gala ceremony on June 14 at Barceló Nasandharua, which is scheduled to be attended by key figures from the tourism industry, professionals, and partners from across the Maldives.
Barceló Nasandharua, a notable new addition to the capital’s hospitality scene is the first five-star hotel in Malé. The property is managed by Barceló Hotel Group as part of its broader expansion in the Indian Ocean region. Conveniently located across from the Henveiru Ferry Terminal and just 10 minutes from Velana International Airport, the hotel features 136 rooms, 116 upscale apartments, and a variety of dining and recreational options—including the city’s first oceanfront pool, a rooftop lounge, several restaurants, a wellness centre, and a seafront fitness studio.
