Zameer commemorates contributions of Bangladeshis to the Maldivian society

Finance Minister Moosa Zameer has commemorated the important contributions of the Bangladeshi community to the Maldivian economy and society.

Minister Zameer graced an event hosted by Bangladesh High Commission in the Maldives to mark the 54th Independence and National Day of Bangladesh as the chief guest.

The event held at Crossroads Maldives was attended by high-level dignitaries, diplomats, and community members including Higher Education Minister Dr. Ali Haidar, Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu, Health Minister Abdulla Nazim.

Speaking during the event, the Minister Zameer praised the enduring friendship between Bangladesh and the Maldives, acknowledging the shared history, mutual cooperation, and the important contributions of the Bangladeshi community to the Maldivian economy and society.

Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh MD Sohel Parvez, who also spoke at the ceremony, paid homage to the valiant freedom fighters, countless martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence of Bangladesh. He highlighted Bangladesh’s remarkable journey since its independence in 1971 and reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the Maldives across all sectors.

Bangladesh High Commission said the event reinforced the enduring bond between the two nations and emphasized the shared vision for peace, prosperity, and regional cooperation.
