Guests join staff in planting trees at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef in celebration of Earth Day

Sun Siyam Vilu Reef held environmental and sustainable efforts on Tuesday, in celebration of the Earth Day 20205.

Under the helm of the Sun Siyam Resorts’ sustainability program, Sun Siyam Cares, dozens of employees and guests at the resort cleaned up the reef, lagoon and beaches of the island in the morning.

And in the evening, guests joined the employees for a tree planting initiative, planting over 40 trees to reinforce the resort’s greenery.

According to Ahmed Sunee, the president of Vilu Reef’s Family Club, these are activities the resort conducts each year in support of Earth Day. The tree planting initiative isn’t limited to Earth Day, but throughout the year.

He thanked the staff and guests who took part in the activities.

The theme for Earth Day 2025 is "Our Power, Our Planet," which calls for people to unite around renewable energy.
