Ministry begins cleaning Male’ drains after last week’s flood

The Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public Works launched a program on Saturday to clean up the clogged drains in the roads of Male’ City following widespread flooding last week.

According to the ministry, the cleanup program kicked off at 9:30 am on Saturday from in front of Luxury store in Majeedhee Magu.

Local Government Minister Adam Shareef Umar visited the location to observe the cleanup efforts.

The ministry said the program will see the cleanup of drains in all roads of Male’, and seeks to mitigate the impact of adverse weather conditions.

The ministry added that the program was being conducted at the instructions of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
