Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar states tuna cases have been distributed to 15,000 households in the greater Male’ area so far.
The Minister, via a post on X on Monday, noted that the distribution of tuna cases is being carried out through seamless arrangements.
He affirmed that the distribution of tuna cases will continue until received by all households.
‘Roadha Hadhiya’ a specialized portal for distribution of tuna cases was introduced on Saturday, following which the Ministry increased the number of tokens issued for issuance of tuna cases on Sunday.
Speaking with Sun, State Minister for Cities, Local Government and Public Works Mohamed Ibrahim said the public can access service via ‘Roadha Hadhiya’ portal 24/7 at present. He detailed that bookings can be made to collect tuna cases at any time, until Friday.
“The issuance [tuna case] will proceed at set times provided between 8:00pm and 12:00pm. People can choose the times that are convenient for them. There is no longer a reason to stay in queues,” he said.
According to Mohamed Ibrahim, tokens for the issuance of tuna cases will only be available via the portal from now on. As such, he advised the public to make bookings for collection at the earliest.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu had announced the decision to distribute tuna cases to Maldivian citizens as a Ramadan gift in November last year – during a ceremony held to mark his administration’s one-year anniversary.
