FM Khaeel calls on Sri Lankan President Dissanayaka

Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel has paid a courtesy call on Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka.

The Minister, who is currently on an ongoing official visit to Sri Lanka, met with President Dissanayaka at the Presidential Secretariat.

During the meeting, he conveyed greetings and best wishes from Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the people of Maldives. 

He spoke regarding key aspects of the Maldives – Sri Lanka relations, while expressing keen interest by the Maldivian government to explore new avenues to collaborate further to strengthen the close bonds of friendship between the two countries.  

Minister Khaleel, on behalf of President Muizzu and Maldivian people, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the government and people of Sri Lanka for the kind support and assistance rendered to the developmental efforts of Maldives at all times. 

The Minister was accompanied by Foreign Secretary of Maldives Fathimath Inaya, High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka Masood Imad and Additional Secretary at Foreign Ministry Aminath Abdulla Didi, during the meeting.

During his visit to Sri Lanka, Minister Khaleel has met with his Sri Lankan counterpart Vijitha Herath for bilateral talks. He has also called on the country’s Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya.
