Three arrested for gang assault

Local law enforcement have arrested three more individuals for suspected involvement in gang assaults.

All three suspects, are accused of using sharp objects to commit assualt. The three individuals are aged 18, 26, and 27, according to Maldives Police Service.

The court's verdict read that the investigating officer (IO) in the case highlighted all three had been involved in actively planning to commit assault with sharp objects. The court verdict also highlighted presence of sufficient evidence against them.

Court also identified criminal priors of all three individuals, and stressed the rise in gang-related criminal activities recently.

While the police have arrested several individuals related to gang-affiliated criminal activities, the authority have not disclosed the identities of these suspects.

Notably, several of these cases involved minors as well.
