The Maldives Chief Justice Ahmed Mu’uthasim Adnan on Sunday announced the decision to fly the national flag across the courts in half mast to mourn the demise of former High Court Judge Shuaib Zakariyya.
Shuaib Zakariyya served as a High Court Judge for more than 11 years.
It was reported that Shuaib has been severely ill for an extended period of time before demise, and was aged 55 at the time of death.
The Supreme Court on Sunday evening, following the demise of Shuaib announced the decision to fly the national flag at half-mast across all Maldivian courts from 18:00hrs on Sunday evening until 18:00hrs on Monday evening.
The late judge’s funeral was held at ‘Aasaharaa’ and his funeral prayer was held at 23:00hrs on Sunday evening.

Shuaib was retired from his last post of High Court Judge on November 22, 2022.
He had attained first degree in Law and Shariah and later completed his Masters in Corporative Law from the International Islamic University of Malaysia.
