HC orders reinstatement of ex-police commander Shiyam

The High Court on Thursday ordered the reinstatement of Ahmed Shiyam, who was serving as the commander of north police division when he was fired in 2014. Shiyam was fired in May 2024 on allegations he abused his powers as the commander of the north police division. In 2019, Shiyam filed an unlawful termination lawsuit against the police with the Civil Court.
