The family room at the Hulhumale’ Prison had previously accommodated only a single meeting at a time.

The space is now fully air conditioned, can accommodate up to three family meetings at a time, and has a designated kid’s corner where inmates can read books and play with their children.

There is also a waiting room next to the family room.

According to Correctional Service, the new family room will increase family meetings at the Hulhumale’ Prison by 100 percent.
